Following lateral conversion of two houses in this conservation area, the project updates and unifies the garden in line with the contemporary aesthetic of this reworked period home, in collaboration with garden designers, Declan Buckley Associates.

New polished concrete terraces have been created to reflect the house's interior floor finish while sections of existing brick paving have been relaid to compliment the period fabric of the house.  A new steel pergola, mirroring the form and scale of the house's large, glazed opening to the garden, provides an asymmetrical feature in the middle ground and oversails the pathway leading to the rear.

The line of the new built-in, cantilevered hardwood seating is continued throughout the garden with box hedging clipped to the same height and width - and a sculptural fountain becomes the surprise element of the promenade.
